Every number in the app comes from these rules. Move a dial and the rankings update immediately.
Your Timeline
- Android: Settings → Location → Location services → Timeline → Export Timeline data.
- iPhone: Google Maps → your profile picture → Settings → Personal content → Export Timeline data.
- Tap Import below and pick the file. Stops from the last 90 days land in your swipe deck.
The file is read on this phone and nothing is uploaded. Restaurants are named from an open map of places (Overture Maps and OpenStreetMap). The app downloads that map only for the areas you’ve been, about 25 km at a time. A stop counts only if a restaurant is within 15 m of it; everything else goes to Skipped places, where you can restore it. Home and work are skipped automatically. Re-import anytime; visits you already have are not duplicated.
Automatic visit detection
When you stay somewhere 20+ minutes, your phone checks it against the restaurant map. Restaurant visits become cards; every other stop is forgotten right away. When 5 visits are waiting, you get a reminder (at most once a day). No location history is kept on the phone or sent anywhere. Android shows a small notification while this is on. It uses some battery; turn it off anytime.
